Logic integrated with ISA Sequences

Logic integrated with ISA Sequences

Our ISA sequence alarm units with integrated light signalling are designed and built to signal in visual and acoustic mode any alarms coming from the field, through the use of analog contacts NA (Normally Open) or NC (Normally Closed). All our alarm units with integrated logic are equipped with high brightness LEDs to facilitate an easy display of the alarms.

Frequently Asked Questions

In what context are ISA sequence alarm announcers used?
Alarm announcers are mainly used to signal by means of analog contacts NA (Normally open) or NC (Normally closed) any alarms coming from the field.
Is there a correspondence between ISA sequences and S18 sequences?
These are 2 different methodologies for identifying the same alarm sequence. ü ISA-01 = S18.1A ü ISA-2C = S18.1M ü ISA-4A = S18.1F1A ü ISA-2A = S18.1R-8 ü ISA-2C + FIRST OUT = S18.1F2M + FIRST OUT
What is the purpose of the remote control contact?
The remote control contact is used to repeat the alarm signal remotely. For example, it can be used in the event that you want to report one or all the alarms inside a place manned by operators.
How to choose the right ISA SEQUENCE announcer?
ISA sequence alarm announcers are used in many sectors, (Industrial, Petrochemical, Naval, Railway, Metropolitan, Electrical panel construction, etc.). Therefore, in order to choose the right alarm control unit, you must first know the field of application. There are multiple alarm announcers that differ from each other substantially by type which can be INTEGRATED LOGIC or SEPARATE LOGIC and alarm sequence which can be ISA-01/ ISA-2C / ISA-4A /ISA-2A /ISA-1A / ISA2C +FIRST OUT. In addition, there is the possibility to customize an alarm sequence according to the customer's needs.
What is the difference between integrated logic and separate logic?
The difference between an integrated logic alarm announcer and a separate logic alarm announcer is as follows:
  • INTEGRATED LOGIC: The logic that processes the alarm sequence and the alarm display system are both on board the alarm announcer and are, for example , mounted on the front door of an electrical panel.

  • SEPARATE LOGIC: The logic that processes the alarm sequence is on board the alarm announcer, which is positioned, for example , inside an electrical panel while the alarm display system is on the front door of the same electrical panel.
  • What to do if an alarm announcer won't turn on?
Verify that the supply voltage is present and also make sure that it is correct and compliant with the plate data shown on the alarm announcer.

    1. If there are circuit breakers, make sure they are correctly positioned in the CLOSED position.

    2. In the presence of fuses mounted on the alarm announcers, check their integrity.

    3. Verify that the connections to the alarm control unit are correct and comply with the wiring diagram that is provided together with the alarm announcer.

    4. If at the end of the above checks, the alarm form still does not turn on, contact our technical assistance at the telephone number 0373/920659 or at the email address tecnico@rtecomponenti.it
